Captain Mike Miller reported that on July 16, police were called to the 200 block of South 7th Street at 5:30 pm for a belated aggravated battery incident. A 28-year-old female victim alleged that a known male suspect attempted to strangle her on Saturday afternoon around 4:00 pm. The victim refused medical treatment and did not claim any injuries or show visible bruises.
While the suspect's identity is known, police have not yet located him. It remains unclear whether the incident is domestic in nature. Several witnesses were present, but police have not yet been able to speak with them. The investigation is ongoing.
