On July 26th at 6:07 pm, a baler fire occurred near the Saline County and Lincoln County line at Eff Creek and Lockard Road. The incident occurred when Staton Diehl, 50, noticed a bearing failure on his baler, which sparked a fire in the surrounding field.
Diehl managed to free the baler from his tractor, preventing further damage to the equipment. However, the fire resulted in the destruction of the baler, valued at $4,000, five bales of hay worth $600, and 40 acres of grass, leading to a loss of $1,000.
