Sensory Friendly Back to School Bash Creates a Fun and Inclusive Start to the
School Year Salina, Kan. — OCCK, Inc.’s Autism Services Department hosted a Sensory Friendly
Back to School Bash on August, 15 th 2025 at OCCK, Inc’s Salina office (1710 W.
Schilling Ave), offering a fun, welcoming environment for children and families to
celebrate the upcoming school year in a way that supports sensory needs.
The event featured sensory-friendly activities such as a movie, crafts, movement
activities, sensory toys, various games, and gave families the chance to meet OCCK
staff, connect with community resources, and enjoy a supportive and fun atmosphere.
“This event is all about making sure every child feels excited and supported going into the school year,” said Erin Segebart, Director of Autism Services at OCCK, Inc. “It’s a chance for families to relax, have fun, and gather helpful tools before the first day of school.”
In addition to the OCCK Autism team, the event included booths from Healthy Blue, Familia Toys, and OCCK Assistive Technology. These booths offered information about health benefits, wellness programs, and allowed families to explore or purchase sensory friendly equipment and toys.
More than 75 people attended the event, showing the continued need for inclusive
community spaces that meet families where they are.
