Salina, KS - Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park experienced a decrease in both revenue and attendance in July 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to recent data released by the park.
In July 2024, Kenwood Cove reported total revenue of $121,531.36, representing a 21.3% decrease from the $154,413.00 generated in July 2023. Attendance figures also reflected a decline, with 16,418 day passes sold in July 2024, a 18.2% drop from the 20,074 passes sold in July 2023. Membership scans followed a similar trend, decreasing by 18.9%, from 6,912 in July 2023 to 5,607 in July 2024.
Despite these declines, Kenwood Cove continued to engage with the community through various initiatives. The park participated in the Sunflower Summer Program, contributing to the distribution of 18,574 passes for the season. Additionally, Kenwood Cove hosted its first Sensitive Friendly Swim event in July, providing a quieter, sensory-friendly environment with reduced noise, no music, and no whistles or speaker announcements.
Kenwood Cove only had to close partially on three occasions in July due to weather-related issues, ensuring that the park remained accessible to visitors for the majority of the month.
