UPDATE MAY 22: During this lengthy investigation into the death of Jason Latham, Detectives of the Salina Police Department were able to establish this case as a homicide. Detectives determined probable cause existed for the arrest of two involved persons. Both subjects, Johnathon Terrance Mullen and Kelly Ray Luthi, were charged on May 19, 2023. The Saline County Attorney’s Office worked with the detectives on this case.

UPDATE MAY 11: On May 10, 2023, the identification of the deceased person was confirmed to be Jason Hilary Patrick Latham, 40-year-old Salina resident.
Jason’s next of kin have been notified. An autopsy was completed and toxicology results are pending. Salina Police Detectives continue to investigate Mr. Latham’s death. Detectives are asking for assistance from the public regarding Mr. Latham’s whereabouts and activities proceeding his death. ORIGINAL: On May 8, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., Salina Police Dispatch received a call from a citizen who reported they had found a body in the 1900 block of N. 5th Street, Salina. Officers responded and found a deceased person. It was apparent the individual had been dead for several days. The individual has not been identified.
This unattended death is being investigated as suspicious, and at this time, the cause of death is unknown. The Salina Police Department is asking the public for any information they may have regarding this case investigation.
