A Salina man has been arrested in connection to a fentanyl death in 2022.
On September 30, 2022 EMS and SPD were dispatched to the 1400 block of Prospect for an individual who was not breathing. EMS was able to restore the 33-year-old woman's pulse and get her breathing again, and transported her to the hospital. However, the victim died on October 3, 2022. It was suspected that this was an overdose death.
An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as fentanyl intoxication. As a result of their investigation, law enforcement was able to arrest 36-year-old Gregory Walburn of Salina, on the requested charge of distribution of a controlled subtance resulting in death. Notably, Walburn was already in custody due to a prior arrest in March, 2023.
