On August 28, 2024, around noon, officers were dispatched to Salina Mini Storage at 440 South Clark Street after a report of a break-in. Two victims, a 33-year-old female and a 38-year-old male, reported that their storage unit had been burglarized. Among the stolen items were subwoofers, a B.C. Rich guitar, amplifiers, a custom acoustic guitar, several rings, and other valuables, totaling a loss of $6,000.
The suspect, a known male, was spotted by the victims at the storage unit shortly after they reported the theft. They decided to follow the suspect as he drove away, tracking him out into the country along Stimmel Road between Ninth and Ohio. During the pursuit, the suspect pulled up beside the victims' vehicle and pointed a gun at them. The victims continued to follow him but eventually lost sight of the suspect near I-70.
Authorities are actively searching for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
