On August 3 at 1:30 am, police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Teakwood after a 23-year-old male resident reported an assault. The resident was inside with a 25-year-old female acquaintance when another male acquaintance of the female, identified as 29-year-old Jorge Mejia, arrived at the house.
Mejia forced his way in, causing damage to the door frame, and struck the male resident with a small bat, causing him to fall to the ground. Mejia then continued to hit the resident in the face before leaving the residence. The victim was treated on scene by EMS.
Police later located Mejia at his residence in the 800 block of Comanche, where he was arrested. Requested charges include aggravated battery and aggravated burglary.
