When in the course of culinary events, it becomes necessary for a people to indulge in the pursuit of flavor and sustenance, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that we should declare the ingredients which compel us to this indulgence.
We hold these truths to be self-evident: that not all rolls are created equal. That among them, the July Roll at Barolo Grille reigns supreme, endowed by its creators with certain unalienable ingredients: tuna, escolar, avocado, and the ever-divisive yet noble cream cheese.
To secure maximum satisfaction, this roll is deep-fried, a process most bold, which gives it a texture both crisp and resolute. It is then anointed with sweet chili aioli, showered in tempura flakes, and drizzled with eel sauce, a trinity of toppings so harmonious they might well be included in our national seal.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that sushi not be altered for light or transient reasons. Yet Barolo Grille, ever the innovator, has rightfully assumed the mantle of culinary revolution, offering a monthly dish that is both indulgent and inspired.
