UPDATE: At this morning's police briefing, Captain Forrester gave an update on the requested charges of Child Endangerment, pertaining to this case.

Each suspect has six counts of Child Endangerment. Three counts were for the alleged condition of the residence they were living in, while the other three counts were for the alleged presence of drugs where children are living. The kids were placed in protective custody with other family members. Their ages are as follows:

  • 15-year-old boy
  • 14-year-old girl
  • 4-year-old girl

ORIGINAL: On April 4, 2023, the Salina Police Department SWAT team, the Salina Police Department Detective Division and Agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant at 827 Mike Drive in Salina regarding a drug investigation involving the distribution of fentanyl pills. During the search over five thousand pills, over half an ounce of suspected methamphetamine, two handguns, 9mm ammunition, and suspected stolen property was seized. The pills are commonly recognized to be counterfeit oxycodone pills containing suspected fentanyl.

Upon completion of the search warrant, the following persons were arrested and the following charges are being requested through the Saline County Attorney’s office:

Charges: six counts of Aggravated Endangering a Child, Distribution of Opiates, Possession of Opiates, two counts of Kansas Tax Stamp Violation, Possession of Methamphetamine, Distribution of Methamphetamine, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of Stolen Property.

Arrested: Chelsea Renae Walburn

W/F 28-years-old
