UPDATE: The first weekend of the Souper Bowl collected 3,970 soup cans and $2,164 in cash donations. Your donations will help the six agencies help others.

Volunteers will be at all three Dillon's stores again on Saturday, February 3 & Sunday, February 4.

Project Salina is reaching out to businesses and churches in the community, seeking support for their ambitious goal of collecting 58,000 cans of soup. The initiative aims to distribute these provisions among key local organizations, including the Salina Food Bank, Salvation Army, Rescue Mission, Ashby House, DVACK, and Salina Grace.

To contribute, residents are encouraged to donate canned soup and non-perishable food items. Collection points, as well as designated Dillons locations, will be available during specified dates and times. The collection period extends from now until Super Bowl Sunday on February 11, 2023.

In addition to food donations, a $30 cash donation can make a significant impact by enabling the purchase of 60 cans of soup. Checks should be made out to "Souper Bowl of Hope."

Donations will be accepted at all three Salina Dillons locations on the following schedule:

  • Sat., Jan. 27 (10 am-6 pm)
  • Sun., Jan. 28 (1 pm-5 pm)
  • Sat., Feb. 3 (10 am-6 pm)
  • Sun., Feb. 4 (1 pm-5 pm)
  • Sat., Feb. 10 (1 pm-5 pm)
  • Sunday, Feb. 11, Super Bowl Sunday (no collection)

Residents can drop off their contributions at any Dillons store during the specified times. Alternatively, donations can be taken to the Project Salina warehouse at 319 S. Fifth (the old Consolidated Printed building). To arrange warehouse drop-offs, contact Janie at 785.643.7143. Please note that food items should not be brought to the Food Bank.

Volunteers are also encouraged to offer their time to help collect donations at Dillons locations. Those interested can contact Janie at 785.643.7143.

This initiative is crucial for supporting local organizations, including the Salina Food Bank, Salvation Army, Rescue Mission, Ashby House, DVACK, and Salina Grace. Residents are urged to contribute and make a positive impact on the community. For questions or to express interest in volunteering, please contact Janie at 785.643.7143.
