Motorcycle-Vehicle Collision Leaves Rider Injured

On May 7th, a collision occurred at the intersection of 9th Street and Cloud Street involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. Sergeant Chad McCary reported the incident, stating that McKenzie Cramer, 21, was driving a 2011 Ford Edge northbound on 9th Street and attempted to turn left onto Cloud Street. Juan Monreal-Esparza, 22, was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on 9th Street when Cramer turned at the same time. Monreal-Esparza collided with the passenger side of Cramer's vehicle.

While Cramer was uninjured, Monreal-Esparza sustained severe face and head abrasions. He was initially transported to Salina Regional Health Center and later transferred to Via Christi St. Francis for further treatment. Although he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, his family reports that he is on the path to recovery from his injuries.
