Wyoming Man Arrested after Flock Camera gets Possible Stolen Vehicle Alert

Salina Police spot a possible stolen vehicle out of Wyoming with the help of one of SPD's new license plate readers.

Captain Forrester says that at around 9:30 am on Saturday, April 22, the Department's new Flock camera got a hit on the possible stolen U-Haul out of Cheyenne, Wyoming. The possible vehicle was stopped at Broadway and University, and the driver was identified as 53-year-old Michael Keck, from Cheyenne, Wyoming. Mr Keck was found to have had a felony warrant for Burglary out of Laramie County, Wyoming.

While in custody, Mr Keck reportedly had a medical episode and was transferred to SRHC. While in the ER, the officer stepped out of the room for a moment, at which point Mr Keck removed all of his medical apparatuses and allegedly fled out of the room's back door. Mr Keck was eventually found hiding in a hospital restroom.

A search warrant was executed on the U-Haul. Officers allegedly found a Smith & Wesson .22 caliber pistol with the serial number removed, as well as possible marijuana and possible psilocybin mushrooms.

Mr Keck was arrested on the following requested charges:

  • Aggravated Attempt to Escape Custody
  • Defacing a Firearm
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Hallucinogenic
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
