Women’s Tennis gets 4-3 Win over Evangel for First KCAC Win of Season

Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis made the long trek to take on the Evangel University Valor, and the Coyotes came away with a 4-3 win, picking up their first Kansas Conference win of the season.
 
After losing the doubles point as Evangel won two of the three flights, the Coyotes bounced back in singles play and got wins at the 3, 4, 5 and 6 positions to claim the match victory.
 
In doubles, KWU got the win at No. 1 as Kristi Henderson and McKinnley Evans beat Abigail and Rachel Chaney 6-1. In the other doubles matches, Carly McAtee and Alexia Phipps beat Michaela Crowe and Alivia Sherer 6-2, and Courtney Yates and McKenzie Calhoun beat Camrynn Bagwell and Danielle Slack 6-4.
 
In singles, the Coyotes claimed the match as Evans beat Phipps 6-3, 6-2; Sherer beat McAtee 7-5, 6-2; Slack beat Yates 6-3, 6-0; and Eliza Camp beat Calhoun 7-5, 6-2. Evangel won two flights as Rachel Chaney beat Henderson 6-1, 6-1; and Abigail Chaney won by retirement over Crowe.
