Vandalism Incident at Soccer Complex Causes Property Damage

City Parks & Rec Becomes Victim of Vandalism

A property damage incident struck the Salina Soccer Complex, 2100 E Magnolia, between May 30th and June 6th. On June 6th, an employee made a discovery when inspecting the premises, revealing an act of vandalism that resulted in loss.

During the inspection, it was found that a lock securing the concession stand enclosure had been cut. In addition, a piece of Styrofoam insulation had been broken, granting unauthorized access to the building. Inside, signs of destruction were seen, including tipped-over water.

The estimated cost of the damage has been estimated at $15 for the replacement of the damaged lock and an additional $15 to repair the Styrofoam insulation. The impact of the vandalism goes beyond the monetary value, as it poses an inconvenience for both the City Parks & Rec staff and the soccer complex visitors.
