United States Honor Flag Stops in Salina to Honor Fallen Deputy Brandon Gaede

SALINA, KS — On Wednesday afternoon, members of the Salina Police Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Office stood guard over the United States Honor Flag during a brief stop in Salina. The flag was en route to Phillipsburg, Kansas, where it will honor Fallen Phillips County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Gaede.

The Honor Flag, which has traveled the country since 2008, is part of The Honor Network, a non-profit committed to recognizing and remembering America's fallen heroes. The flag is handled exclusively with custom white gloves bearing “USHF” in blue—never touched by bare hands, and never held by the same pair of gloves twice. After each tribute, the gloves are presented to the fallen officer's family as a lasting symbol of honor and respect.

Local law enforcement ensured the flag was never left unattended during its stop in Salina, standing watch with solemn pride. The Saline County Sheriff's Office provided the information for this report.
