Southeast of Saline Announces Ptacek as New Head Baseball Coach
The Southeast of Saline Athletic Department has named Chance Ptacek as the new head coach for the Trojans' baseball program. Ptacek, who has deep roots in the community and extensive experience in baseball both as a player and coach, takes over as the third head coach in the history of the program.
Playing and Coaching Experience
Ptacek’s baseball journey began at Southeast of Saline High School, where he played for four years. He continued his playing career with the Salina American Legion for a year and then at Bethany College for three years.
On the coaching side, Ptacek has accumulated significant experience over the past several years. He served as an assistant coach for the Salina American Legion for seven years and coached various age groups with the Salina Spikes for a total of nine years, including the last two years as the head coach of the 14U team.
Coaching Philosophy
Ptacek’s motivation for coaching stems from the positive impact sports have had on his life. He values the life lessons and experiences gained through sports and is eager to contribute to the development of his players. “It is a privilege to play a part in these experiences and lessons as a coach,” Ptacek said.
