Saline County Commission Approves Bid Award for Rural Fire District 5 Station Roofs

During the Commission meeting on March 26, 2024, a request for action was presented by Saline County Fire District 5 regarding the replacement of existing roofs for both stations. Three bids were received for the project, with Ryan Roofing Salina, KS submitting the lowest bid of $50,484.86.

Following the recommendation of the Rural Fire District 5 Board of Trustees, the County Commission unanimously approved the bid award to Ryan Roofing for the proposed project. The bid includes a completion date of August 1st, 2024.

The budget impact of the project will be partially covered by a $58,000 ARPA grant awarded to the district for station generators and roof replacements. With $25,850 already allocated for station generators, the remaining $32,150 from the grant, along with an additional $18,334.86 from the district's operating budget, will cover the cost of the roof replacements.
