Saline County Commission Approves Bid Award for 2024 Pipe Culverts

During their February 13, 2024 meeting, the Saline County Commission reviewed a request from the Road and Bridge Department to award the bid for 2024 pipe culverts. Sealed bids were opened on February 1, 2024, and three bids were received. The commission considered awarding the pipe, end sections, and bridge decking separately. Ultimately, they accepted the bid from Welborn Sales for the Pipe Culverts and Dimple Bands, totaling $99,129.53, and the bid from J&J Drainage Projects, Co. for the Galvanized Pipe End Sections, totaling $53,100.00. The total combined bids amounted to $152,229.53. The commission unanimously passed the recommendation with a 5-0 vote. The funds for this purchase will be drawn from the 125 Account (2 Mil), which currently has an unencumbered balance of $1,324,828.66.
