Salina South Volleyball Secures Two Wins, Improves to 5-4
The Salina South Cougars volleyball team earned two victories on Tuesday, September 10, defeating Haysville-Campus in straight sets, 26-24 and 25-22, and Hutchinson in a three-set battle, 20-25, 28-26, and 25-21. The wins bring the Cougars’ season record to 5-4.
Leading the charge for Salina South was Paityn Fritz, who recorded 27 kills and 28 assists. Tamia Cheeks added 19 kills and 7 blocks, while Sophie Daily contributed 27 assists. Macy Yost tallied 12 kills, and Morgan Janousek anchored the back row with 24 digs.
The Cougars swept the night, with both JV and Varsity teams finishing 4-0.
Next up, the Cougars will compete in the Southeast of Saline Tournament this Saturday. Matches begin at 9, 10, and 11 a.m., with bracket play to follow. Come out and support the team!
