Salina Presbyterian Manor Nears $10 Million Fundraising Goal for Major Expansion

Salina Presbyterian Manor is approaching the finish line of its ambitious $10 million expansion campaign, having raised $8.5 million from more than 200 donors over the course of the "Preserving Legacies, Enriching Lives Campaign."

The nonprofit retirement community, which has served Saline County since 1980, is seeking an additional $1.5 million to complete funding for major renovations and additions designed to enhance the quality of life for current and future residents.

"Our residents and their families told us in a recent survey that our campus needs updates," said Jenni Jones, Director of Giving. "The goal of this expansion campaign is to make sure our current residents live well and age well…and that future residents enjoy the same benefits."

The comprehensive project will renovate the facility's front entrance and surrounding commons areas, upgrade dining and service spaces, and add a new wellness center among other improvements. As Salina's only nonprofit retirement community, the Manor provides what officials describe as a full continuum of care for aging adults.

"It's the only place in town that has comprehensive careβ€”from entry to your last breath, they take care of you," said Salina resident Dick Brown.

The campaign has attracted donations ranging from $5 to $1.5 million, reflecting broad community support for the project. Campaign organizers emphasize that gifts of any size are welcome and can be made through various methods including cash gifts, qualified retirement plan assets, and planned giving options.

Salina Presbyterian Manor currently offers independent and assisted living, long-term care, memory care, and short-term rehabilitation services. The facility is part of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America (PMMA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates 16 locations across Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado, plus one hospice in Missouri.

Community members interested in supporting the campaign can visit the campaign website or contact Jenni Jones at 785-342-0410 or JJones@pmma.org to discuss giving options.

The Manor's leadership hopes to secure the remaining funding to ensure the project moves forward as planned, emphasizing the importance of providing quality aging services for all Salina residents.
