Salina Police Department Wins Friendly Blood Drive Competition Against Fire Department, Nears Red Cross Goal

The Salina Police Department (SPD) has proudly announced its victory in the annual friendly competition with the Salina Fire Department (SFD), hosted by the American Red Cross Kansas. This yearly event is more than just a rivalry between first responders—it's a crucial effort to support the Red Cross in collecting much-needed blood donations.

This year, the SPD took home the gold, but the real winner was the community. The American Red Cross came just one pint short of their three-day goal of 126 pints, thanks to the overwhelming support from Salina residents and the dedicated participation of first responders from both the police and fire departments.

"We're very grateful for the opportunity the American Red Cross Kansas gives us yearly," the SPD stated. "The friendly competition with the Salina Fire Department is always a great time, and this year we took home the gold."

The SPD extended its thanks to everyone who contributed to the cause, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in life-saving initiatives like this blood drive.
