Salina Man Killed In Single Vehicle Crash Thursday Night

A fatal accident occurred late Thursday night on K143, just west of U.S. Highway 81 and a quarter-mile east of Gerard Road. The crash was reported at 10:34 PM.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2000 GMC New Sierra 1550, driven by 37-year-old Brandon L. Doherty of Salina, was traveling westbound on K143 at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. The vehicle crashed into a guardrail before overturning into the north ditch.

Doherty sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
