Man Arrested After Welfare Check

On the evening of December 6th at 10:20 pm, officers responded to a call in the 200 block of S 7th regarding the well-being of 21-year-old Dawson Nielson, who had reported chest pain. Upon arrival, officers claim to have discovered Nielson in an inebriated state, engaging in disruptive behavior towards another individual and vocally expressing threats of physical confrontation. Officers endeavored to make an arrest, but Nielson allegedly resisted by kicking and causing disturbances in the back seat of the police vehicle. Subsequently, he was restrained using a body wrap. Nielson is now facing requested charges of disorderly conduct and pedestrian under the influence.
