Salina Man Arrested After Neighbors Report Him In Vacant House

Salina Police responded to the 200 block of S 8th on the report of a burglary in progress on Monday, December 27, at 3:30 pm.

Neighbors reported that they had seen a small stature male enter a residence owned by a 70-year-old female from Solomon, around 3 pm. They also reported that they had seen the same male coming and going at this residence since December 23. The residence is supposed to be vacant.

Officers searched the residence and found Nicholas Reimonenq, a 29-year-old male from Salina, allegedly hiding in a utility closet. Officers reportedly located a backpack belonging to Nicholas. He allegedly had some items in the backpack belonging to the previous tenants of the residence. He was also reported as having an antique glass doorknob in his pocket. The total amount of items he had allegedly taken was $55.

Nicholas has the following requested charges:

  • Burglary
  • Theft
  • Interference with Law Enforcement
