Salina Man Arrested After Allegedly Poking Family Member In Chest With Shotgun

An aggravated battery occurred on Sunday, December 26 at 9:45 pm, in the 2400 block of Drake Pl.

SPD was sent to the area for a domestic disturbance, in which a firearm was reported to be involved.

The victim was a 43-year-old Salina man, who reported that a family member, later identified as 75-year-old Daniel Baffa, had pointed a shotgun at him. Daniel was allegedly intoxicated and accused the victim of hiding his cigarettes. The victim was in bed when Daniel allegedly entered the room carrying a Remington 20-gauge shotgun.

Daniel allegedly poked the victim in the chest with the shotgun and demanded his cigarettes. The victim was able to call 911, at which point Daniel is said to have let go of the shotgun and left the room.

Daniel Baffa was charged on the following requested charges:

  • Aggravated battery
  • Aggravated assault
