Salina Art Center Presents "Janet Planet" | July 19-24
Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Cheryl Baker makes a stunning cinematic debut with "Janet Planet," an evocative coming-of-age film. Featuring indelible performances by Julianne Nicholson and newcomer Zoe Ziegler, the film explores the intricate dynamics between an outgoing single mother and her precocious daughter during the summer of 1991. Highlighted by Maria von Hausswolff’s 16mm cinematography and Teresa Mastropierro’s nostalgic production design, "Janet Planet" is a carefully-crafted mood piece that subverts clichés about mother-daughter relationships with humor and heartache.
Screening Dates: July 19-24
