Motorists who regularly travel on South Ohio Street should prepare for lane reductions beginning this week.
Starting Thursday, April 17, Smoky Hill Construction will be working in the outside northbound lane of South Ohio Street at Buckeye Avenue. Crews will be removing pavement and disconnecting a water main from service.
The construction will limit South Ohio Street to one-lane traffic in the northbound direction between Shalimar Drive and Albert Avenue. Access to the entrance of 2041 South Ohio Street will be restricted during the project, but motorists can use the adjacent entrance to the north to access the property.
City officials expect the work to last approximately one week, with completion anticipated by April 25, weather permitting.
Appropriate barriers will be in place to ensure worker safety throughout the construction period. Drivers may encounter minor delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes if possible.
