Possible Mechanical Issues Lead to Vehicle Striking Bridge in Western Saline County

A Salina man escapes serious injury after his vehicle left a western Saline County road, possibly due to mechanical issues.

Captain Hughes says that the accident occurred on Monday, May 8, in the 11,000 block of State St. A 52-year-old Salina man was westbound in his 1998 Lincoln Towncar, when the vehicle left the roadway onto the soft shoulder. The vehicle struck a concrete bridge on the north side of the road.

At this point, it's believed possible mechanical issues with the vehicle caused the driver to leave the roadway. The driver was treated by EMS at the scene and released. The vehicle sustained front-end damage.
