At 5:40 am on Wednesday, June 21 officers were called to Kwik Shop at 2003 S Ohio. They arrived at the scene and made contact with a 27-year-old female victim.

According to the victim, she had been asleep in her apartment at 2515 S Ohio when she was awakened by someone hitting her. She recognized the individual as an someone known to her. The subject was hitting her before taking the victim's cell phone and fleeing the apartment, rendering her unable to immediately contact law enforcement.

Determined to seek assistance, the victim attempted to make her way to the police department. However, she soon discovered that two of her vehicle's tires had been slashed. Consequently, the victim pulled over at Kwik Shop.

Additionally, the subject gained entry to the victim's apartment by forcing their way into the door. The victim suffered minor injuries.
