Official City Boundaries Approved
In Monday's City Commission Meeting, Resolution No. 23-8177 was addressed, delineating the official corporate boundaries of the City of Salina.
In accordance with K.S.A. 12-517, the City of Salina is mandated to "declare by resolution the entire boundary of the city" before the end of each year, specifically by December 31st. This resolution encompasses any alterations to the boundaries that have occurred since the approval of the previous city boundary Resolution Number 22-8092 last year.
The modifications to the City of Salina's boundary include the incorporation of the land specified in Ordinance No. 23-11144 (Centennial Road, 4.44 acres), Ordinance Number 23-11156 (Lakeview Estates Addition No. 3, 16.37 acres), and Ordinance Number 23-11161 (Beck's Addition, 19.80 acres). Concurrently, Ordinance Number 23-11189, addressing an application submitted by Salina Destination Development, LCC, seeking the annexation of a 41.92-acre tract of land situated on the west side of Virginia Drive, south of West Magnolia Road (Dry Creek Subdivision), is on the same agenda. However, its implementation is pending publication later this week and would not take effect until after approval. Anticipating the approval of Ordinance Number 23-11189, the City corporate limits Resolution encompasses this area, as it is slated to become effective before December 31, 2023, which is the effective date of the present resolution.
The Resolution was unanimously passed with a 5-0 vote.
