New Businesses in Bloom

CROSSROADS SHUTTLE SERVICE NOW OFFERING UBER/LYFT SERVICES IN SALINA

When Randy Lillard dreamed up the idea of a transportation business, his vision was to take groups of friends, colleagues and families for tours and tastings at area breweries, distilleries and wineries. This concept has been successful, but Lillard quickly realized the need and opportunity to expand and rebrand. There were corporate clients that needed transportation to and from the airport that did not necessarily want to get out of a van that said Booz Cruz at 8:00 am.

This week Booze Cruz Tours and Tastings has been rebranded and will make its debut as Crossroads Shuttle Service.

Crossroads Shuttle Service has been sponsored by Salina311 and will be a safe and clean option for transportation for visitors and locals to get across town, to downtown, to and from the airport, concerts, events or just a night out.

The shuttle service van will feature local and unique experiences that Salina has to offer through graphic sponsorship and will basically be a rolling billboard for retailers, attractions, museums, events and restaurants. To inquire about van sponsorship, please contact Salina311’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Jenn Reitz. jenn@salina311.com

The tours and tastings will be a service that Lillard will continue to offer and has a lot of fun doing for him. His current route for the Booze Cruz is to the Smoky River Distillery in Marquette, Three Rings Brewery in McPherson, Smoky Hill Under The Cork in Lindsborg. He has recently added Salt City Brew Brewing Company in Hutchinson and Fly Boy Brewery and Eats in Sylvan Grove as a destinations.

"I will drive groups anywhere they want to go in or out of the state." said Lillard. "I have taken groups on overnight trips to ball games, casino trips, shopping trips. I have been to Kansas City, Missouri, Oklahoma and take a lot of corporate and school groups to the Wichita Airport."

The Crossroads Shuttle Service Van can hold up to 14 passengers. Coolers with any beverages of choice is welcomed in the van and can be consumed in the van.

Shuttle services can be requested by using Uber or Lyft apps or flat rate by calling/texting directly to 785.822.9400.

WILKEN'S ACRE GENERAL STORE

Right off of I70 west of Abilene, travelers and locals Wilken's Acre General Store is now open across from Love's. Local couple, Jeff and Tina Wilkens have been operating a successful business on their family farm with the goal to educate and produce the highest quality natural products derived from the hemp plant.  They are one of the first fully integrated hemp processing facilities located in central Kansas. They incorporated a retail store to their operation and soon realized they needed more space and their new location is now open.

They achieved their vision of a cozy cabin atmosphere. The store features gifts, décor, candles, furniture and food products made in Kansas. The aroma from the coffee shop and Tasty Pastries fills the air as you shop. Tables invite guests to stay and rest if traveling or for locals and friends to meet.
