Men’s Tennis blanks Concordia 7-0
It was a good start to the spring season for the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes men's tennis team. The Coyotes officially opened the spring season on Thursday with a 7-0 win over Concordia at the Grand Island Tennis Center.
The win improves the Coyotes to 3-0 in duals this year, as KWU closed out the fall season with a pair of dual victories over Bethany and Baker.
The Coyotes swept all six singles matches. Bryce Ware beat Hugo Fuentes Gomez 6-3, 6-2; Alex Sherer beat Grady Works 6-1, 6-2; Raul Davinos-Gavino beat Santiago Abadia Aran 6-4, 6-3; Adam Hanson beat Michael Bedrosian 3-6, 6-1, 10-7; Jacob Phelps beat Manuel Rodriguez 6-4, 4-6, 11-9; and William McMurry beat Mitch Krumm 7-5, 7-6.
In doubles, KWU took the doubles point winning two of three flights. Ware and Sherer beat Fuentes Gomez and Luke Johnson 6-0; Luke Craft and Paula Cattani-Martini beat Works and Bedrosian 6-1. Concordia saw Abadia Aran and Rodriguez beat Hanson and Davalos-Gavino 6-3.
The Coyotes are back in action on Saturday, heading to Fremont, Neb.,to take on Midland University.
