Man Arrested After Grocery Store Customers Report Being Hit in Face with Belt
On Wednesday, January 31, at 9:17 pm, officers were sent to Dillons at 1201 W Crawford for the report of a disorderly man slapping customers with a belt. Officers made contact with an individual identified as 27-year-old Kish Cox, who was allegedly in the store trying to start fights with customers. An employee asked Cox to leave, and he allegedly refused. The employee was going to call 911, and Cox reportedly slapped the phone out of the employee's hand and hit her in the shoulder. Another employee came to help, and Cox allegedly slapped that person in the face with the belt. A customer then became involved, and Cox reportedly approached the person aggressively and struck her in the face with the belt. Officers then arrived and arrested Cox on the requested charges of disorderly conduct, four counts of battery, criminal damage to property, aggravated intimidation of a witness, and criminal trespass.
