KWU Women’s Golf Wins Central Plains Invitational, B Team Finishes 6th

Kansas Wesleyan Women's Golf shot the low round of the day on Tuesday, posting a score of 308, breaking a tie with Park University and coming away with a seven-shot win in the Central Plains Invitational on Tuesday at Salina Country Club.

Wesleyan and Park were tied after Monday's first round with a score of 323, but the Coyotes improved 15 shots as a team in the second round to pull away from Park and get the seven-shot win.

KWU finished the tournament with a score of 631, while Park was second with a 638. Dodge City CC was third with 640, followed by Evangel with a 678, Southwestern Christian with 680, the KWU B team with 696 and Oklahoma Wesleyan with 722.

Abby Donovan (78-78) and Hannah Hart (82-74) led the KWU finishers, tying for fourth place with a score of 156. Chaney Littell finished ninth with a score of 157 (79-78) and Sarah Krenowicz was the fourth Coyote in the Top 10, finishing tied for 10th with a 163 (85-78). Ryann Warren finished 17th with a 167 (84-83).

Thalia Ramirez finished 39th for the Coyotes with a 186, playing as an individual.

KWU's B team finished sixth with a team score of 696, finishing with a 340 in the second round after a 356 in the first round.

Ashlyn Armstrong led the Coyotes tying for 22nd with a score of 172 (89-83). Savanna Nickum was 25th with a 174 (90-84), Kelsey Essex tied for 26th with a 175 (89-86), Magen Dow tied for 32nd with a  183 (88-95), and Morgan McReynolds tied for 36th with a 184 (97-87).

Up next for the Coyotes is the KCAC Match Play Championships on Monday and Tuesday in Dodge City at Mariah Hills. The Coyotes are the 3-time defending KCAC Match Play Champions.
