Salina, Kansas, May 20, 2025 – Stryten Energy LLC, a U.S.-based energy storage solutions provider, was pleased to host Kansas State Representative Steven K. Howe at its battery manufacturing plant in Salina, KS, on Friday, May 9, 2025. During the visit, he toured our state-of-the-art facility, where Stryten employees manufacture batteries used in automotive, marine/RV, heavy duty trucks and lawn and garden applications.
Representative Howe commented, “I am thankful that Stryten Energy is proudly building exceptional batteries and energy storage systems right here in the United States. Their investment in the Salina manufacturing facility is a tremendous boost to our local and regional economy. I am grateful for their incredible team who showed me their production process from start to finish. Congratulations on 50 years of battery production in Salina!”
During his visit, Representative Howe was educated on the intricacies of lead battery production and the significant milestones achieved by the Salina facility during its 50-year history. He expressed interest in the plant's operations and was particularly impressed by the fact that lead batteries are the most recycled consumer product in the world, with a nearly 100 percent recycling rate.
"Representative Howe's visit was a tremendous opportunity for us to showcase our advancements in manufacturing to produce darn good batteries for cars, trucks, boats and RVs,” said Rodger Meyer, Executive Vice President of Operations at Stryten Energy. “It was an honor to show Representative Howe our commitment to our people, energy innovation, environmental sustainability and the community."
The Salina facility recently celebrated 50 years of manufacturing excellence. As one of the largest lead battery manufacturing facilities in the U.S., the Salina plant has undergone significant transformations over the years, shifting from manual lead grid casting to utilizing automated punch grid and assembly systems to improve efficiency, safety and ergonomics. Stryten has also introduced advanced battery products, such as Enhanced Flooded Batteries (EFBs), to meet the demands of modern start-stop and hybrid vehicles.
