Juvenile Suspects Arrested After Burglary at Pack Rat on South Broadway

On the morning of August 29, 2024, around 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to Pack Rat, located at 695 South Broadway Boulevard, after employees discovered a burglary had occurred. Upon arrival, officers found that a window on the south side of the business had been shattered. Surveillance footage revealed that two juvenile males had broken into the store around 12:30 a.m. and stolen numerous vape cartridges. The business is still assessing the total loss, but the estimated value of the stolen goods and damages is approximately $1,200.

Later that afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., a worker from St. Francis spotted two juveniles, who had previously been reported as runaways, at Centennial Park. The juveniles attempted to flee, dropping several vape cartridges in the process. Officers and deputies later found the suspects hiding behind a shed in a backyard in the 800 block of Commanche.

Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the vape cartridges came from the Pack Rat burglary. The two male juveniles, aged 14 and 15, are now facing charges including Burglary, Damage to Property, Trespassing, and Possession of Electronic Cigarettes.

Captain James Feldman stated that the investigation is ongoing, and the juveniles have been taken into custody.
