High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest & Possible Drug Seizure

On Friday, July 21 at 11:30 pm, an officer on patrol in the 200 block of W Hamilton allegedly observed a vehicle with a registration issue. The officer attempted a traffic stop, but instead, a six-minute chase allegedly ensued, spanning through several blocks until it reached the 700 block of S Front.

The vehicle struck a curb, triggering the deployment of airbags. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Dalton Jones from Salina, allegedly exited the vehicle and fled. However, the officer quickly apprehended him.

During a search, cocaine and marijuana were allegedly located. Jones was arrested on the following requested charges:

  • Flee & Elude
  • Felony Interference with Law Enforcement
  • Possession of Opiate with Intent to Distribute
  • No Tax Stamp
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Multiple Traffic Violations

The suspect was allegedly driving a 2017 Audi A3 at speeds exceeding 80 mph during the chase.
