Greater Salina Community Foundation Awards Over $30,000 in Grants

The Greater Salina Community Foundation has awarded more than $30,000 in grants to eight charitable projects and organizations through its competitive summer grant cycle. The grants will support a range of initiatives, including youth programs, hygiene item distribution, community service renovations, and educational technology upgrades.

The recipients of the grants include:

Community Impact Grants:

  • New Heights Therapeutic Riding Inc.: $5,000 for therapeutic riding scholarships.
  • Blessed Hope Family, Inc.: $5,000 for their Empowering Families and Expanding Services Project.
  • Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank: $5,560 for the purchase of critical hygiene items.
  • Salina Art Center: $2,450 for supplies for Youth Arts Programs.
  • Journey Ventures Inc.: $7,500 for renovations to improve and restore the women’s home.

Capacity Building Grants:

  • Prairieland Market: $1,888 for employee certification education.
  • Coronado Area Council, Boy Scouts of America: $2,400 for scouting marketing equipment.

Operating Grants:

  • USD 306: $3,562.74 to purchase 3D printers, materials, curriculum, and a cooling unit for OMTECH CO2 laser.

The grants were made possible through several funds, including the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, Kansas Health Foundation Fund, Fund for Greater Salina, L.P. "Pat" Mullen Fund, and the George & Jeanne Frisbie Fund. These funds support initiatives that enhance community life, promote public health, and provide educational and basic needs assistance in Saline County.
