Early Morning Pursuit in Southwest Salina

UPDATE: Clayton Bratton, 28, has been positively identified as the driver of the vehicle allegedly involved in the pursuit. He was apprehended on Saturday, December 2 at Kwik Shop, 657 Fairdale.

ORIGINAL: In the early hours of Wednesday, November 29, an officer reportedly observed a 2007 gray Honda Odyssey violating a red light at the intersection of Broadway and South. Following the officer's attempt to initiate a traffic stop, the driver proceeded southbound on Broadway, allegedly disregarding another red light at the Broadway and Crawford intersection. The situation escalated when the vehicle reached speeds of 100 mph, prompting the involvement of KHP at the intersection of Broadway and S 9th. The pursuit continued until the vehicle reached Otto, where it encountered mechanical issues, resulting in visible smoke. The vehicle eventually came to a halt at Tulane, prompting the driver to flee on foot.
