County Commission Approves Temporary Senior Executive Services Agreement
At last week's County Commission Meeting, Commissioners heard a request for an agreement for temporary senior executive services.
Request for Action
On April 4th staff presented during a concept discussion the idea of potentially entering into an agreement with a firm(s) that could provide temporary senior level staffing for particular projects. A request for action was brought to the Commission on April 11th asking for the authorization to release a request for qualifications to firms to provide these services.
A Request for Qualifications was released on April 14th to firms that could provide temporary services from senior executives experienced in local government. Staff received responses from Strategic Government Resources (SGR) out of Keller, Texas, and Shockey Consulting Services LLC out of Overland Park, Kansas.
Both firms offer unique abilities to provide temporary project-based work such as researching and drafting new policies, preparing analyses for staff reports, and writing grant proposals to fund important projects. This request for action is to enter into a Master Agreement with Strategic Government Resources (SGR) to provide temporary senior executive services. It is staff’s intent to bring back a separate RFA for an agreement with Shockey Consulting Services at a later date. This Master Agreement does not commit expending funds, rather establishes a set service fee, supplemental fees, and agreement terms which has been reviewed by County Counselor.
Budget Impact
There is no budget impact with approving the agreement with Strategic Government Resources (SGR). Any projects identified to be assigned to an experienced professional would also require finding a funding source to pay for the cost of the temporary engagement.
The motion was approved 5-0.
