Community Resilience Hub to Host Third Annual Civil Discourse Training
The Community Resilience Hub (CRH) at Kansas Wesleyan University is preparing to host its third annual Civil Discourse Training on October 15-16. The event aims to equip participants with skills to engage in healthy conversations, navigate differences, and find common ground in a civil manner.
"Fostering respectful conversations is essential to our mission at the CRH," said Sabrina Rosario, director of the Community Resilience Hub. "This training is a key part of our effort to teach people how to approach disagreements constructively."
The two-day event will feature Alan Yarborough, a trainer with extensive advocacy experience, who will guide attendees through exercises in dialogue and conflict resolution. Yarborough’s background includes six years with the Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations, where he leads advocacy and civil discourse workshops.
Participants can choose between a full-day course on October 15, or a half-day session on October 16, designed for those who have previously attended the training. The cost for the full-day session is $25, the half-day session is $15, or participants can attend both for $35, with lunch provided.
