Altercation at Dollar General Leads to Charges for Two Salina Residents
On April 17th at 8:00 am, police responded to Dollar General at 840 East Crawford Street, where two men were reportedly involved in a disturbance with hammers. The officers found Christian Dionicio-Reyes and Cristobal Lopez-Ramirez leaving in separate cars.
Both men, residents of Salina, had been at a work site on the 2600 block of East Crawford Street but were asked to leave and sent home. They followed each other to Dollar General, where an altercation ensued.
Christian retrieved a hammer from his trunk and attempted to strike Cristobal, who was still in his vehicle. In retaliation, Cristobal grabbed a hammer and damaged Christian's phone before swinging the hammer at him. The initial confrontation at the work site was due to Christian swinging a hammer at Cristobal.
Cristobal sustained an injury to his arm during the altercation and sought medical attention. Christian faces charges of aggravated battery, and he was also arrested for a warrant. Cristobal faces charges of aggravated assault and felony criminal damage to property.
