Accident at K-140 and Halstead Road Injures One

On Friday, August 9, 2024, at approximately 3:59 pm, an accident occurred at the intersection of K-140 Highway and Halstead Road involving a tan 1999 Chevy Blazer and a silver 2001 Volkswagen Beetle.

The Chevy Blazer, driven by 19-year-old Lewis Oquest-Tucker of Salina, was traveling northbound on Halstead Road when it failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with K-140. The Blazer collided with the side of the Volkswagen Beetle, which was westbound on K-140 and driven by 72-year-old Douglas Kretzer of Marquette.

Douglas Kretzer sustained cuts on his arm and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center (SRHC) by EMS for treatment. Oquest-Tucker was cited at the scene for failing to stop at the stop sign.
