8 Hours Until Gates Open

It's been said that the Smoky Hill River Festival can't start until the trees are dressed.

Well, the trees are dressed. That's all thanks to 8 hours of work put in by the Tree Dressers, and their 12 totes full of fabric.

Be that as it may, we still have to wait until 4pm for gates to open at Oakdale Park, and until 6pm for Festival Jam to drop the first beat.

The food trucks are filling the circle drive within the park. And, from what I've seen, your taste buds are going to be pleased this year!

So, here are some reminders:

No more buttons. It's all wristbands. But, just like in years past the pre-sale of wristbands is done. They will only be on sale at the gate.

You can find more to know at the Smoky Hill River Festival website, https://www.riverfestival.com/first-time/. It has some helpful information on what's okay to bring in and what isn't, the Festival lineup, how this weekend is awesome for kids, and the timing of everything.

Basically, it all boils down to this:

30 food vendors, 130 artists, 75 performers.

This weekend will leave you wishing the Smoky Hill River Festival lasted more than just 4 days.
